Q: How do we get started with this since it's our 1st year?
A: We help take the guessing out of it as this will vary per group. Make sure you establish a group goal and have members on board with the same plan/focus so that it can be a success right away. Just have them come to our site and communicate how many and which locations of cards they want and then the leader just places the order with us. We will also send you some cards and tabs for quick sales and for the people who will lead the sale. Have marketing materials, literature, etc. printed and ready to go or attached to email. There are a few ways to sell...Take orders from people or direct them to the website to view all the discounts. Collect money from them and then order through us or have them order through the site (make sure they put your group name in at the 'fundraising group' section upon checkout), and we'll mail the cards to them. Some groups do a sign-up sheet (provided under 'Fundraiser Info' link).
Q: How long is the typical sales period?
A: The average sales period with best results is around 3 weeks, but it varies based on how often the group meets. Good, frequent communication within the group is the best way to maximize sales.
Q: Who should we sell the cards to outside of immediate members or supporters?
A: You can sell to family members, friends, neighbors, church members, students/teachers, co-workers (break room sign-up sheet may be needed), or you could advertise locally-e.g. newspaper, newsletter, web page, or social media such as Facebook/Twitter.
Q: Are all cards 'calendar year' cards?
A: Most of the 'Target Your Discount' cards are 'calendar year' cards, but we do customized cards and time frames in new areas or for special requests.
Q: Why not just sell the key tabs?
A: Many customers and newer employees of merchants like to see the printed discounts on the cards so they know what discounts are being offered. Some merchants participate on different cards and the discounts are different. For customers, as they are going to frequent the merchants close to home and some don't have smart phones or want to go to a website to view discounts (or print off the list). Also, there are merchants who will only participate with the card and therefore we don't list them on the website. We try to provide something for everyone to use and be satisfied with. The key tabs are an added convenient shortcut to flash and get the discount; rather than dig into your wallet each time. We also have an App to download so you can view all participating merchants.
Q: When are the cards available to sell each year?
A: The existing area cards are typically ready to sell in the fall. We understand the importance of having time to sell prior to- and during holidays, along with 'in season' sports or activities.
Q: How long does it take to get a new card or location ready?
A: New card locations require at least a few weeks of setup, design and manufacturing time. We will keep in communication with you throughout the process.
Q: What should we do if there's demand for more cards/tabs after the sales period has ended?
A: We will make sure that your cards will be made available to you based on your demand. People can also order cards online and we will make sure the group gets the benefit from the sale.
Q: Are there disclaimers on the cards and tabs?
A: There are disclaimers listed on the card and we list them below:
1. Discounts are off REGULAR PRICES (not specials)
2. All discounts are not valid with any other offers
3. No discounts on purchases of GIFT CERTIFICATES OR ALCOHOL
*4. Please check participating locations-corporate vs. franchise-owned or new locations
Q: What happens if the business doesn't recognize the card/tab or honor the discount?
A: This very rarely happens, however all businesses presented on the card should honor the discount as they have agreed and have been contracted for the year period; however, there are situations that may arise, such as:
1. New Employees or management (ask for management if they don't recognize it because it could've just been a miscommunication issue.)
2. If it's used before or after the time period (most honor it early, but there are a few merchants that wait for the new year to start.) We only print the expiration date on the card and tab.
3. Make sure your meal wasn't a special, no alcohol included and no gift certificates included in purchase
4. You didn't purchase the minimum $ amount required (that minimum amount should be listed.)
5. If the card states 'cardholder only' rather than an entire table.
Please note, that if this situation arises, please contact us immediately and we will try to get this resolved ASAP. We are trying to promote a positive experience for everyone involved.
Q: What are your payment options?
A: We accept Cash or Check and for online individual sales, we accept PayPal or credit card and mobile payments. An invoice can be provided at the group's request.
Customer Q: What if I want to purchase a card/tab, but can't find a fundraising group or contact person?
A: We can find a group/contact person for you or you can purchase a card/tab directly from us and we will make sure the group gets credit.
Suggestion-When paying your bill to the merchant, show the card ahead of time. Also, when leaving a tip, please be sure to tip prior to the discount being applied to your total bill.
